Great pics this week Pete. Love the two buffalo locking horns and the elephant. We were fortunate to see the Senegal bush male a few weeks ago.

You know I love the cheetah picture. Thanks for that amazing sighting!

Amazing set of images this week, rivalling last week!! The two rollers and the Flat Rock male are sometthing special here!!

Wonderful pictures Pete, but I have to say my favorite is the limited view of the Tamboti female. Because of her positioning in the tree, this shot tells me a story, just what an image should do.
On another note, I noticed the shot of Grant’s vehicle did not have the photo pods – not sure the proper name, but it’s a post attached to the “hand rail” with a beanbag like pad attached to it. Are they not on all vehicles?

Hi Denise,

They go by different names according to who you ask. I personally like to refer to them as the “mushroom rests”. We have them available for anybody that needs one but do not tend to leave them on as they can get in the way if someone is not interested in taking photographs.

Thanks for the kind words!

Pete

The lion and Land Rover photo brought back many happy memories. Thank you!

A wonderful TWIP, Pete! Loved the image of 2thr two rollers especially and those cheetah are special to me! Hope Flat Rock’s cubs will be safe as a new male pushes in, though!

First rains. Must be very exciting as Spring arrives. Pictures are first rate and I thank you. I look forward to every day but TWIP Friday’s always have powerful images

Great shots Pete! The cheetah is the one animal we didn’t get to see during our visit there last year and I love this shot of them … they’re just stunning!

Pete you gave us much to feast our eyes upon this week! What an extraordinary images. It’s just a reminder of the wonderful array of animals that live in Londolozi and how capable staff is when writing and taking photographs. All good images are appreciated, but I tend toward the unusual….like the mysterious view through the leaves of the Tamboti female (I’d like that one hanging on my wall), or the half face of the elephant. So glad the cheetah’s are still rambling in and out of Londolozi and that the Birmingham male appears to be still seeking out the lone Tsalala female…..it might be her only way to find some kind of ultimate protection. I still worry for her.
BTW, I’m seriously thinking about getting a print of your image of the Tamboli female. How does one go about doing that? Thanks, Pete!

Thanks for your comments, Joanne.

I will get back to you soon regarding the purchase!

Pete

Hi Joanne,
If you hover over the image of the Tamboti young female, you will see a shopping cart icon on the bottom right of the picture. Click this and then follow steps to make your purchase. Wow! Great pics. You sure had your camera and your artist’s eye working for you on this series!

Wow! Love the stories that go with amazing moments frozen in time!

Enjoyed all the pics today, Pete. Took the two Lilac Breasted Rollers and the three Cheetahs for Screensavers though! May still take the Marabou Stork in the dusty orange sunset too actually. So glad you guys have had some rain. We had quite a big thunderstorm here in Randburg a short while ago and I hoped it would go North to the Bush. We have been on holiday and the Bush we saw was bone dry. Thanks, Pete! Wendy M

Hi Wendy!

I feel honoured to hear that some of my images will be gracing your screen as screensavers. I used to download other photographers wildlife images when I was younger, so it’s great to hear the tables have turned…

Have a great week,

Pete

Pete: We loved your photos, especially the rhino and the two rollers. Memories of a week of fabulous and fascinating game drives.
