This one will surprise you.
It’s a photo from a couple of months ago but so much was happening at the time we didn’t make the big thing out of it that we should have (this is a clue by the way).
The photo below was taken into the sun but has just enough detail for you to reach a conclusion, or at least to get most of the way there.
The identity of the bird (and a better photo) will be found in this Friday’s Week in Pictures…
Good luck!
Guessing an eagle if I look at the form.

Crowned eagle
Wow, you really know how to hurt non-birders. This one is really difficult!
Hi James,
Based on it being an exciting spot and the little detail on offer I will go with an African Crowned Eagle
it is a martial eagle…..
Ayres’s Hawk Eagle?
An African cuckoo hawk? Torn between that and a buzzard, which would be more interesting from a “returning birds” point of view …
personally birding is my area of weakness but l would like to believe its an eagle basing on the outline
I’d say that it’s a Crowned Eagle.
Ayres Hawk Eagle?
Martial?
Snake eagle? Or a Harrier hawk?
