That’s wonderful Matt, hats off to you and Terrence.

Yay Terence. You are not only a great tracker but kind and tenacious. What a great combination. Chuck and I remember your patience and determination that we would see the Three River female and her cub, now the Tinxiya female. It was one of the highlights of our stay that year. Thanks to you and Matt we have that beautiful memory. Looking forward to seeing you in 2027.

I loved this blog- I was there! I could picture the roads, the slight whiff of leopard, see the staring kudu and pow, there she was, Nanga’s daughter whom I’ve only seen as a cub! Great tracking, great evening, wish I’d been there.

Your post describes perfectly what one might expect during a drive in the bush and illustrates how slowing down, listening, searching for clues all play a part in tracking, but most of all, patience is key. It’s as though Makomsava knew you were there, searching and her gift to you was to reveal herself. Every drive is different and you never know what the end story might be…

Thanks Matt that the readers of the blog can kind of take part in your wonderful experience with this female leopard.
Of course, it would be even more wonderful if one could be right there on the spot and admire her, but it is still great that you always share your adventures with your readers.

Dear Matt, thanks for that story full of the feelings of tracking. Thats Londolozi, and it is a very hard art to find that small signs.

Hi Matt, fantastic animals! The Makomsava female is particularly photogenic and a great mai character. The kudu is a lovely antelope…. and the Tortoise Pan Male always a royal surprise…

Hi Matt your patience and determination to see a leopard that day paid off. Well done to you and Terence. You said you smelt a leopard, can you tell what does it smell like please. The kudos also saw the Makomsava female and she is a beauty.

Great post Matt. I love this level of “insider” look into the wilds of Londolozi!
