Oh my word! Do I know the feeling of a missed opportunity! Shame, Sean! Sorry you missed it, but what a lesson learnt! I can’t wait to hopefully see Xinkhova and the cubs in a few weeks’ time!

We’ll forgive you Sean. You do such a wonderful job of keeping us up to date with superb footage. Thank you.

“The most painful mistake I’ve made behind a camera” we have all forgotten the basics

Hmmm, frustrating to say the least when your best plan to capture a leopard on the move fails. Thankfully you captured some great footage the previous time so all was not lost.
The Maxims male is certainly a beast amongst male leopards. I’ve yet to actually spend time with him, but his size reminds me of the Senegal Bush male, although it appears Maxims is larger. It would seem that Shingi will mature into a male leopard much the size of his father.
As far as Xinzele and Tsalala, time will tell how many cubs each has, if at all in the case of Xinzele. Patience…..

Sean, thanks for being so forthcoming about your camera snafu! At least you got some good video of the cub! One of our special places is Ximpalapala and we loved seeing the video of it in beautiful green! We were up there on our last visit and there is nothing like watching a sunset from up there!

I think you need to ask her to sign a Model Release Form!

Seriously, we love your work. Don’t stop

Hi Sean, it was such exciting news about the Xinzele female which was unheard of for quite a while, and the mating between the two (the Nhlambela male) was an intriguing perspective, now what’s he doing down there…? I do hope he gets away… the Maxim male was super! What a view, he’s really a spectacular leopard! The Gjima males were too full- bellied and dozy… funny! The success of the Xinkova female would perpetuate the genes of her mother and the Mashaba female, after her sister the Plaque Rock female’s death… looking forward to reading further news! Thank you Sean!

Hi Sean, don’t beat yourself up Sean we all make mistakes and no one is perfect. We are just to happy to see beautiful images every week and on Sundays a video. So glad to hear Tsalala female is pregnant and hopefully we will be able to see her cubs one day. Xinkhova female and her cubs are gorgeous. Well we will have to wait and see what happens to the Xinzele female and that male leopard roaming around her den. It is a pity the camera that you set up did not record Xinkhova carrying her cub, but you did take fotos from your other camera which were super.

You still got a get video of her walking by w/ her cub regardless!!! xox

We did, thankfully.

I am looking forward to your next episode, Sean! Mistake or not: it is a great video.
Has happened to me several times that I didn’t push the correct video button long enough and-alas- no video.
