Lucky families, indeed, who can visit Pioneer Camp. Such a beautiful home away from home!

We have so many beautiful memories of Pioneer Camp, starting with our first trip to Londolozi with our best friends and experiencing the bush with John Holley and Richard Siwela. There have been important birthdays with family and friends, and times when we have met new friends. Each trip has been magical, generating stories that we continue to tell….and lots of firsts, our first leopard cubs, scrambling up the tree, the cheetah hiding amongst the long grass, the pangolin rolled tightly in a ball, the honey badger with the terrapin, the wine tasting by the pond, and the familiar faces meeting us at the airstrip. Londolozi is magical, and Pioneer is an oasis where each time it feels like we are coming home. We are looking forward to our return. Thank you Varty family for creating this special place.

Hi Megan, Pioneer Camp is an exceptional place filled with so many beautiful images and antiques from over a hundred years ago. The Varty family have really made this Camp and all other Camps a life time experience to visit. Beautiful furniture displaying very good taste, gardens are neatly kept and the swimming pool is always a winner in the summer.
