At Londolozi, every day holds its own magic. From the first light of dawn to the peaceful evenings under the stars, each moment offers a new adventure. While it’s difficult to fully capture the essence of a day here, this blog will share what you might expect as a guest at Londolozi.
Early Morning Game Drive
The day begins with an exhilarating game drive as the sun rises, exploring the wilderness in search of wildlife. Sunrise is one of the best times for animal viewing, as the bush awakens with a surge of energy like no other. You’ll witness some of the best animal sightings while enjoying a spectacular sunrise, which makes the early start even more worth it!
Wilderness Coffee Break
After an exciting morning, a pause amidst nature to enjoy a cup of coffee is needed. And if you’ve been to Londolozi before, you know we love our coffee infused with Amarula—a cream liqueur from South Africa that enhances the coffee’s flavour wonderfully. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African bush, it’s the perfect moment to relax and soak in the beauty around you.
A Delicious Breakfast
Following the morning game drive, you’ll return to camp with a built-up appetite, ready to enjoy a delicious breakfast. Our menu boasts a variety of tempting options, including perfectly poached eggs benedict with creamy hollandaise sauce, fluffy french toast topped with fresh berries, a drizzle of maple syrup, crispy bacon, and so much more. The breakfast times are also a great way to plan your day of activities…
Time For Some Much Needed Relaxation
A Scrumptious Lunch
After a morning of relaxation and exploring the activities around camp, it’s time for lunch on the deck of your camp. With a menu that changes daily, you’ll enjoy a variety of gourmet dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients. One of the highlights of lunchtime is the open-air deck, where you dine immersed in stunning views and the serene sounds of the surrounding wilderness.
Something Sweet At High Tea
Now it’s time for something sweet. Before setting off on your afternoon safari, indulge in our high tea setup. Enjoy a slice of one of our famous cakes, perfectly paired with homemade iced coffee, and other delectable drinks. It’s the ideal way to prepare for your afternoon safari adventure!
Afternoon Game Drive
It’s time for another thrilling game drive. The afternoon holds special excitement as you witness animals in the soft, golden light of sunset—a truly beautiful time to be out in the bush.
Sundowner Experience
This is a definite highlight of the day: stopping in the wilderness for sundowners. As the sun starts to fade, your game ranger will select a beautiful spot in the wilderness to watch the sunset. Enjoy a drink of your choice (we recommend a gin and tonic!), appreciate the company, and soak in the spectacular views as the day comes to a close.
Dinner Under the Stars
When you return to camp, you’ll enjoy a unique dinner experience in one of our famous boma’s under the starlit sky. A boma is a traditional outdoor enclosure made of wooden poles, creating a cosy and intimate atmosphere. At Londolozi, we enhance this setting with candles, a roaring fire, and softly lit lanterns, creating a magical ambience. Enjoy delicious food, share your day’s adventures, and gather around the fire to hear stories from our staff and fellow guests.
After an eventful day, you’ll retreat to your suite, eagerly anticipating another day at Londolozi.
Thanks Megan for your insights. A day at Londolozi sounds delicious, adventurous
William, you’re very welcome!
….and to think, the longer you stay, the more perfect days you’ll enjoy!!
Denise, absolutely!
Perfect.
See you September 2025
Susan, looking forward to welcoming you in September 2025!
It is always so exciting to start a new day, a new early morning drive. What will the drive bring? What might be happening behind the next corner? There are surprises, situations one would never have imagined. Like, once there was a falcon right behind a bend, killing a cuckoo and then starting to rip off its feathers. A faint whining sound and tracker and guide realized there were wild dog pups nearby… The rasping growling sound of a leopard on his territorial patrol, or suddenly, in front of the car, a pride of lions, adults sleeping youngsters playing around. So fantastic!
And in between all this the lovely meals at Londolozi, the nice pools to swim in, a nice massage to relax, and at the end of the day a dinner under starlight. Just magic!
Christa, we’re so glad you enjoy the magic of each morning drive and all the special moments in between. It sounds like you’ve had some incredible sightings!
And, sorry, nearly forgotten, all the below mentioned wonderful experiences made perfect by the most hospitable, nicest people imaginable.
Megan your story on a Day In The Life As A Londolozi Guest spells out absolute comfort and excitement from beginning to end. The game drives seeing those amazing animals and then having coffee watching the sunrise is something to remember. Breakfast after that and I am sure it is going to be delicious. There is so much to do there, or just relax by the pool. All the staff will be most willing to keep you comfortable at all times. Lunch time will be a delicious meal and then something to drink and out on the Land Rover for the afternoon drive. Evenings spent in the boma with everyone exchanging what you experienced on the drives and how you spent your afternoon can just be an Evening well spent with the Ranger and Tracker that showcased you around.
Thank you, Valmai. I’m glad you enjoyed reading about the Londolozi experience!
There is not better place to enjoy a Safari experience than Londolozi. Our best vacation experience ever
Andrew and Daniel, I’m so glad to hear that!
The only time I will ever get up really early voluntarily is when I’m at Londolozi. As you say Megan, it’s always worth it!
Suzanne, I hear you! Londolozi has a way of making early mornings special, even for non-morning people like us.
My Husband (he was not at the time) 10 years ago asked me “ if you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?” I said “Africa, to see the animals” We chose Londolozi…
I fell in love with my husband and Africa in Londolozi… There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about our amazing experience there. My first sighting of a leopard, our bush walk to see the rhinos, the sound of the elephants coming down the river right behind our camp! The giraffes, herd of water buffalo, hippos, a night feed of a fresh kill of a lion pride with cubs!!
I could go on & on. The monkey stealing my banana at breakfast, the people and the stories of life in the bush during fireside dinner…
What a blessed place to be❤️
Hi Barbi – thank you for sharing your beautiful memories! It’s wonderful to hear how Londolozi holds such a special place in your heart. We hope to welcome you back soon!
