Good for you, Reece, I gather the ranger training course is not for the faint-hearted! I remember another camp manager at Founders who made the same transition to ranger (I think his name is Garrett, not sure if he’s still there?)

Hi Susan. Happy New Year, wishing you all the best for 2024. I’m so glad you enjoyed this blog. Yes indeed, Garret Fitzpatrick also made the transition from Camp Management to Guiding however, he is now apart of our sales team.

Reece, Thanks for sharing your story and appreciation of the amazing Londolozi experience. Your time as a camp manager and now as a ranger has allowed you to see the big picture inside and out. We agree that the more you know, the more you realize how much you don’t know, and we will look forward to hearing more about your journey! Much good luck to you and Merry Christmas!

Hi Michael and Terri. Thank you so much for your wishes! I hope you had a fantastic festive season and wishing you a magical 2024. Looking forward to welcoming you both back soon!

Such a beautiful dream to have manifested. I hope you enjoy it for as long as it suits you. Sounds like heaven to me.

Hi Chelsea. I’m so glad you enjoyed this blog. I’m definitely living the dream! I hope you have a fantastic 2024!

Reece, congratulations on living your dream. Few people in our world are able to accomplish this. Congratulations!

Hi William. Happy New Year, May it be a special one for you and your loved ones. Yes indeed, a very proud accomplishment for me.

Congratulations Reece on realizing your dream of becoming a member of the guiding staff at Londolozi. I would imagine that spending a year+ as a camp manager provided valuable experience as you began your journey to becoming a guide. As a manager, you had the opportunity to interact with guests before and after their drives, listening to their stories and experiences that presented insights to the relationships with their guides and trackers. Knowledge of the bush is essential, but guest relationships are paramount in the hospitality sector, so continue to grow, learn and most of all, have fun!

Hi Denise. I hope you are well and that you have had a magical festive season! Wishing you all the best for 2024. Thank you so much, having worked on the camp side before making the transition has been extremely valuable. I am truly lucky to be able to call Londolozi my home!

What an experience you have had for the last two years of being a Camp Manager. You have met so many people of all parts of the world. Not to talk about the Alumni Rangersand J.V and Alex van Heerden and all the others as well. Know you have at last got to your happy place and you are know guiding as well. I am sure that was the highlight of your life style at Londolozi, being able to guide as well. Enjoying all the wild animals in their own environment and still meeting the guest from all parts of the world. Congrats on your guiding success and may you enjoy every minute of it.

Hi Valmai. Thank you so much for your wishes, I am truly grateful to be living out this dream in the most magical of places. Wishing you all the best for the New Year, may it be a special year for you and your loved ones.

Reece, in September 2022, you were subbing in as Tree Camp Manager and I recall your glow when you spoke of the flora, fauna, fungi … the biota … at Londolozi. Bravo to you for seeking a dream and for it coming true!

Thank you so much! It has been one heck of a journey but I am so excited to continue to learn and grow in 2024. Wishing you a Happy New Year and we cannot wait to welcoming you back to Londolozi in the near future! Keep well.
