We have listed some frequently asked questions below to help you prepare for an unforgettable adventure with us.
What will Londolozi be like?
No two days are the same at Londolozi and the experience is tailored to suit individual preferences and expectations. There is a certain rhythm and pace to the experience that stirs a sense of homecoming on repeat visits and a pleasing sense of order for first-time bushveld visitors. Life at Londolozi is dictated by the seasons; the vegetation and the animal behaviour shift with the rains of summer and the chill of winter. What is unchanging is the warmth of your welcome by your Londolozi Family and the opportunity to experience a deep and authentic connection with the natural world.
Why choose Londolozi?
By choosing Londolozi, our guests can indulge in an extraordinary safari experience that combines unrivalled wildlife encounters, exceptional hospitality, and a deep respect for the natural world.
Londolozi is situated on the banks of the Sand River, in the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park. Going on safari at Londolozi allows you to have an exclusive and luxurious experience of the area.
As a luxury private game reserve, Londolozi is world-renowned. Famous for its Londolozi Feeling, although hard to describe, it could be translated to a combination of experiential luxury surrounded by the spectacular beauty of the Sabi Sands, all the while feeling completely at home within this wilderness.
“We believe in safari as a journey that immerses the senses and awakens the spirit. To have an encounter with wild animals in the African bush is to discover an essential truth about ourselves and our world. For all of us who live the Londolozi feeling, our deepest wish is to give you the chance to experience this for yourself” – Shan Varty
A much-loved experience is the opportunity to see the legendary Leopards of Londolozi. Bathe in the Private Granite Suites as a herd of elephants walk by, explore a re-imagined education model for Africa, or have a private picnic in the tree tops overlooking the Sand River – this could be your ultimate luxury safari experience.
What to pack?
Deciding what to pack on your African safari can be a daunting exercise if you are a first-time safari-goer. In order for your safari experience to be as enjoyable as possible, we have put together a small list of essentials to assist you with what to pack for your African safari.
The Golden Rule to remember is that safari should always be more about comfort than style, however, it is very possible to do both! Whether you are arriving in the heat of summer or visiting during the balmy winter days, an awareness of what to expect will aid you in bringing along worthwhile items and leaving behind the things that don’t matter as much. The beautiful South African weather provides for warm days and cooler evenings. We recommend packing light, comfortable clothing with neutral colours and breathable fabrics. (Our inside tip for great safari packing is layers!) We advise bringing warm layers for the early morning and evening game drives, and be sure to pack your swimming costume for a dip in your private plunge pool! In addition to this, we offer a daily, complimentary full laundry service
