We were thrilled and deeply honoured to hear that we recently clinched the Number 1 spot in the Conde Nast Reader’s Choice Awards: Top 20 Resorts in South Africa, with a score of 99.38 out of a possible 100. What made it doubly special was that this was the first ever joint US/UK awards combined, incorporating a much larger voter group.
Thirty two years ago, Conde Nast launched their first travel survey in which readers responded by filling out a paper ballot with a pen or a pencil and then mailing it back. Taking the survey fully online in 2005 massively boosted reader engagement in the voting, and this year over 600 000 people voted worldwide for their favourite resorts, hotels, airlines and other members of the travel industry.
A Reader’s Choice Award is particularly special to us as it is an authentic reflection of how our guests feel about the work we do… Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote this year!!
We would like to especially acknowledge our Londolozi family, who give and share so much to ensure that anyone who visits us feels at home.
Also a huge congratulations to every other one of our Relais & Chateaux family members, fellow Lodges or Travel expert that were featured. We are humbled to be part of such an incredible and diverse group of industry leaders.
Ultimately, what an award like this truly does is to enable a social enterprise like Londolozi to continue its ripple effect out into the world. It enhances our ability to facilitate reimagining education in rural Africa, as well as the education of our staff and their dependents. It allows us to continue to maintain a safe-haven for rhinos, and most importantly, it highlights the power that every guests holds to create change through their safari:
