Callum Gowar

Field Guide

Growing up in Cape Town, the opposite end of South Africa from its main wildlife areas, didn't slow Callum down when embarking on his ranger training at Londolozi at the start of 2015. He had slowly begun moving north-east through the country anyway, having studied Economics, Anthropology and Environmental Science at the University of Rhodes in Grahamstown, receiving his honours in Environmental Science.
His friendly demeanour and enthusiasm ensured that he was at the front of the pack during his guide training period, and getting paired with tracking wizard Freddy Ngobeni saw him excel immediately upon heading out into the field. Callum was a Londolozi ranger between 2015 - 2017.
