The beauty of the daily co-existence and co-creation we live at Londolozi has manifested itself into the formalisation of a concept, which we call “202o”.
Dave Varty explains it as “a multidimensional philosophy, which realizes that Londolozi is not a game lodge but rather a platform for advocacy of the restoration movement and the new consciousness. It is a place that should inspire a profound desire in all to live in deeper connection with each other and the natural world.”
It’s a model for the potential of village living that realizes that new systems for living can be created, systems that at their core develop a sense of wellbeing and belonging in all the sentient beings that reside at Londolozi. We believe that we can become a futuristic African village that combines cutting edge sustainable technology with the natural world and the magic that comes from community life.
One tenet at the core of this 2020 drive is one of health and education for the entire Londolozi family and surrounding communities.
Therefore today on 1 December 2016, we have joined the rest of the world in recognising World AIDS Day, which seeks to raise awareness for the pandemic. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day and today we hold a silent campaign in our village. We’ve chosen some key trees around Londolozi and wrapped them in red ribbons, whilst the talented women in the craft centre have created pins for our guests to wear as reminder of what this day means for us all.
Health and wellbeing are things that no-one should ever take for granted and at Londolozi we strive daily to live the message that care of self is the very foundation of care of community.
What a great initiative, and a beautiful sentiment. I love that the care of self is the very foundation of the care of community- as always, beautifully put Amy!
