Our recent guest, Mitch Wolf, has a great eye for photography and so when he offered to share his pictures with us on the blog I was, needless to say, ecstatic! I hope you all enjoy them as much as I did…
At Londolozi it is not often that rangers come across ‘unknown’ leopards so when ranger and tracker team, Mark and Like, were unable to identify this male at first glance, it made for a very interesting discussion amongst the ranging team. Keep an eye on the blog next week for the identification of this particular male leopard.
Oxpeckers find the majority of their food source on the backs of rhino’s, buffalos and hippos. Here, the situation is no different and Mitch has managed to capture this beautifully.
Mitch was fortunate enough to see lions that were not flat out on their backs and he got some great pictures of them yawning and moving about.
I absolutely love this picture. Mitch has done a great job at getting the movement in the mane while still being focussed on the nose.
The morning light on this Sparta sub-adult is so wonderful.
With the fear of crocodiles in the pans and the river, leopards often drink from small puddles. Here, the Tamboti female and her cubs share a drink from the same puddle.
