A few weeks ago, I shared a secret project that we have been working on for three years. It has been thrilling for me to see how excited our Londolozi followers and fans have been about the imminent release of our three-part documentary series. As a bonus, I have loved reading each comment on social media and here, on the Londolozi blog, sharing appreciation for our story and how Londolozi came to be.
The time has almost come to share Part 1 with you. As true creatives, we have returned to celebrating the art of long-format storytelling. It might not be trendy at the moment, but sometimes the analogue version tells the story with more truth. With only 1 week to go, we present to you the trailer for Courageous Acts of Healing.
Courageous Acts of Healing
Today, the concept of rewilding is a word made popular by everyone from environmental doyens such as Sir David Attenborough through his work on A Life On Our Planet to TikTok influencers who encourage followers to ‘rewild themselves’, making it part of popular culture. But restoration and rewilding as concepts weren’t always so well known. Or understood. Or even believed to be something worth investing time, energy, and money into.
And yet, it is the fundamental part of one of our oldest stories. Without committing to a wild, naive, and courageous act of healing this land, Londolozi as we know it today would not exist.
This is a story of wildness returning. Of what it means to restore a land, and be restored by it in return. Of the quiet, extraordinary courage it takes to heal – and to keep healing, decade after decade, long after the easy road has been left behind.
It is the story of Londolozi. It is the story of all of us who have ever sat at this fire.
Courageous Acts of Healing – the first in our three-part documentary series – is almost here. Our never-ending campfire story, made visible. An invitation to come and sit at the fire with us, and share in what ten decades of the Londolozi family have learned, protected, and loved since 1926.
We cannot wait to share Part 1 of this remarkable story with you on the 11th March.
