There is something rather magical about the anticipation of the festive season.
The lists begin. Parcels start arriving. Plans are quietly made. And somewhere between choosing something for the person who has everything, finding a little something to spoil yourself, and wondering whether you have left it all a little too late, the season of giving begins.
So this year, we thought we would start early.
Throughout November, we will be opening 12 Days of Londolozi: twelve carefully considered reveals inspired by the people, places, stories and partnerships that have shaped Londolozi throughout our centenary year.
Think of it as our own take on an advent calendar, only instead of opening every door at once, we will be revealing them slowly throughout the month.
And no, we are not going to tell you what is behind all twelve just yet…
A Gift Guide, Londolozi Style
This is partly why we are beginning in November.
We know that finding a meaningful gift takes time, particularly when it is something handmade, limited, bespoke or created in collaboration with people whose work we deeply admire.
Over the coming weeks, some of our doors will reveal beautiful things you can wrap and place beneath the tree. Others might offer something to download, experience, listen to or share. And one or two may remind us that sometimes the greatest gift has very little to do with what is inside a box.
Our hope is that the 12 Days of Londolozi gives you a little inspiration for your wish list while leaving enough time to explore, order and plan ahead.
Where possible, we will share relevant ordering information along the way, but please keep in mind that some of the more bespoke pieces are made with time and care, and may take a little longer to find their way to you. They are, after all, worth waiting for…
A Few Clues…
We promised not to give everything away, but we can offer a few hints.
✨ There will be something to wear, created through collaborations close to our hearts.
✨ Something to light, bringing a little of the African wilderness into your home.
✨ Something to sip, best enjoyed slowly.
✨ Something to read, for those who would happily disappear into the wilderness for an afternoon.
✨ There will be something made by hand, something made to last, and something you can print from wherever in the world you happen to be.
✨ We will share a moment of stillness inspired by the idea that has guided our centenary year: Hold the Light.
✨ We will look back across 100 years of Londolozi, and towards the people and places that will carry its ripple forward.
✨ And, because giving has always meant more to us than simply exchanging presents, there will be one very special door dedicated entirely to the gift of giving.
As for the rest? You will have to wait and see.
Twelve Doors. One Month. Plenty of Surprises.
The first door opens on the 1st of November, and from there we will reveal something new every few days throughout the month.
Some will be familiar Londolozi favourites. Others are collaborations we have been quietly working on behind the scenes. There will be gifts, stories, experiences and a few surprises that we hope bring a little bit of the Londolozi spirit into your festive season, wherever in the world you may be.
