This week I want to take you through the whole thing — where it started, what the search has looked like, and where it sits right now. It has been one beastly search, and we have, for the most part, loved every second of it.
It isn’t resolved. But it’s worth telling anyway.

Hi Sean, Nkoveni female really did the roundabout with you. I could hear the excitement in your voice everytime you went out to look for her and hoping she would lead you to her cubs. So so illusive Nkoveni female, and we are dying to see those little fur balls and so are you. The bush has it’s own time and could not care less about your schedule, sorry to say. Those hyenas tummy were so full it looked as if they were going to burst at any moment. Can’ t wait to see what you have for us next Sunday.
Sean, I feel your excitement and frustration, so near, yet not close enough. Nkoveni is an experienced mother and I suspect that she will be very careful in revealing where her den site is. As we all know, luck and patience plays a huge part in finding that first den. A vehicle could be enjoying a coffee break in the Maxabene and hear mewling during a quiet moment… I know the hunt is on, and every team member is on alert to find her cubs, especially since this could be her last litter. You ended with a teasing remark so perhaps your diligence has paid off. If so, then we all will be thrilled to see her tiny fluff balls. Fingers crossed they remain safe.
On another note, albeit not a pleasant one, one of the blog subscribers has revealed that Tsalala has lost her four cubs to the Plains Camp males. Is this confirmed? Absolutely heartbreaking once again if so.

Hi Sean, I think your obsession is quite contagious! Who wouldn’t be on the edge knowing that there are Nkoveni Female ‘s new cubs? Incredible the opening picture. She looks like a geopard or leoguar…. stockily built and with that peculiar Incredible rosettes she has…. she seems to fear none… I will always remember her fight against the Ntsevu lionesses for her daughter….
