Great news. Always exciting to have new additions to the leopard populations. We’ll hold our breath to see her cubs soon.

Thanks Jos completely agree!

Hi LGR. Thank you so much for putting up this so very interesting and exciting blog on the Xinkhova female leopard. I know her cubs wouldn’t be seen just het over there, but the prospect of seeing a brand new litter of leopard cubs born in your property is so good and exciting. It is such a very special and exciting time.

At five years and two months old, I’m so looking forward to seeing the first ever photos of her very first litter of cubs as and when the time is ready for her to reveal them eventually. It isn’t surprising that she’ll be seen a lot more often, as her young, tiny and unseen cubs will often keep her on the go when it comes to hunting regularly. They’ll be in demand.

Her cubs will be just under a month old by now. I’m sure she will be a very good and highly protective mother to her own very first litter of cubs when and once the cubs are old enough to come out of the densite. She, like her cubless sister, has hopefully learned the art of raising cubs so well from her experienced mum as the time nears to come out of hiding.

If her densite is within a stones throw away from one of your camps, then if possible, you might well be able to see her and the cubs from the decks of the camp however near it is currently. I bet a lot of the Xinkhova female’s fans are all looking forward to seeing her very first litter of cubs in a few weeks time, including me and all of you at Londolozi. I hope she raises them to independence ever so very successfully indeed even if they’ve got a long way to go ahead there. Do keep us and me updated please.

Hope to hear from you shortly.

Hi Robert, its great news indeed. We’ll be sure to keep everyone updated!

Great news Nic! Hope she shows off her new litter to all of you soon. We always remember the grandmother – Mashaba too!

Fingers crossed!

So very exciting. Xinkhova is such a beautiful cat and will hopefully be a very successful mama!

Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the update, Nic. Which males had she been seen mating with? (hopefully not her father!)
Has anyone heard if her sister Stone Drift has raised any cubs yet?

Sure Suzanne! We suspect the Flat Rock male but nothing confirmed. We don’t see much of Stone Drift unfortunately. She had a litter last year I believe which she unfortunately lost.

Looking forward to an early cub sighting in May!

Completely agree!

Wonderful news! Nic. Surely everybody who knows this young leopard and her family is looking forward to hearing this news: And wow, close to Tree camp! What a wonderful neighbourhood to live in such proximity to a new leopard mum.

Its great news indeed!

Hi Nic, this is such good news hearing Xinkhova has given birth. Hopefully we will soon see the little fur balls. Her mother the Nkoveni female is an exceptional mother and raised all her cubs well. So the lineage of the Sunsetbend female will carry on. What an extraordinary blood line that carries on.

Hi Nic, so utterly exciting! It’s been long since her sister become a mother, so, hopefully new cubs from her! She’s so beautiful, like the Plaque Rock female that was my favourite. Sadly… the Nkoveni Female is an exceptional mother, able to fight against lionesses and escape and fear nothing! Have you any news of the Mashaba female? It seems she’s disappeared…. also the Nhlanguleni female… very different from each other, the Mashaba more robust and the Nhlanguleni slender.both great leopardesses… well, I’m looking forward to reading further news about beautiful Xinkova…

Waiting for some good news on the cubs. Hope all goes well

This is wonderful news! Wishing this new little family well.

Fantastic news, know her as a cub, wish her the same successful story of motherhood as her mom.

Wow Nic, great news! Perhaps she will reveal her cubs in a couple of weeks whilst I’m visiting – that would be the ultimate sighting!!
