Although many of our guests claim their tummies are full from our delicious breakfasts, everyone still manages to stroll down for a delicious lunch!
After many years of buffet lunches, we moved to an à la carte menu – mainly due to the suffering temperatures in the summer and because we wanted to give our guests the chance to try more of our simply sophisticated dishes.
Lunch has turned out to be a fantastic success, and although we changed the menu slightly this year, some of the favourites, due to guest demand, remained on the menu!
Chargrilled Fresh Asparagus with softly poached eggs, topped with a sauce vierge – a deliciously light lunch option, which is perfect with an ice-cold glass of sauvignon blanc!
Wraps are an easy go to for lunches. We fill them with all kinds of ingredients from thinly sliced rare fillet, horseradish crème fraiche & rocket to hot smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumber and rocket. The greatest thing about a wrap is that you can eat it ‘on the go’.
One of the lunch items that has not been able to be removed from the menu: the lamb kofta wrap. Lamb koftas, thick tzatziki, fresh mint & tabbouleh all wrapped up in a soft tortilla wrap.
Homemade pasta is one of Londolozi Kitchen’s finest dishes – every two days strands of perfectly made tagliatelle are hung up to dry! In this simply sophisticated pasta dish we use grated zucchini, roasted cherry tomatoes, basil & grated parmesan – delicious!
This is my favourite way of eating! A simple selection of cheese, pickles, smoky parma ham & caramelized onions with some of Brite’s famous ciabatta’s – perfect for a long lazy lunch.
The 1926 Burger – Londolozi is well known for its burgers! Guests often email in advance requesting ‘the burger’ regardless of the day they arrive! This is our 1926 burger – chargrilled 100% beef burger patty & grilled smoky parma ham topped with taleggio cheese – topped with crunchy onion rings and thick cut fries – this burger remains on the menu with a few changes!
The Fillet Sandwich – what’s better than a chargrilled panini, grilled cheese & sliced tomato topped with thinly sliced marinated fillet of beef – topped off with rocket & caramelized onions! Yum!
Let me know what your favourite lunch has been!
It all looks so lovely! My mouth is watering just reading this blog! Can’t wait to try out these dishes on our return to Londolozi in less than a month! Beyond excited !!
