As the air continues to chill and my longing for winter intensifies we see another week pass by at Londolozi. Another week closer to the dry, tawny landscape that is the middle of the year, a time when misty mornings are common place and the predators have the upper hand. Their camouflaged coats come into their own and the herbivores start to battle for nutrients as the bush dries up. But for now the remaining water from the rains still seeps out of the Earth and the animals enjoy the last of the wet season, not long now though and we’ll soon start to notice the change. Enjoy this week in Pictures!!
Let us know which is your favourite picture of this week in the comments section below…
Photographed by: Simon Smit and Mike Sutherland
Chameleon in the dark and Dark Maned Majingilane. Keep up the good work Simon!
The “coat”……striking indeed. The coat and the picture.
lovely pictures !
The moon photo looks like the blood moon (total eclipse of the moon) which was visible April 14-15 from the Americas.
Nicely done, Simon. Nothing quite beats a great lion photo; that’s my favourite.
Jessie was our guide during a visit in March with Backroads. She and her fiancé were planning to drive north to Kenya during their vacation. She gave me a blog address, but I must have copied it incorrectly. Do you know if she and Duncan have set up a blog for their trip, and, if so, can you send me their address, please? Jessie and Shad were special people at Londolozi, a special place.
Thanks,

Nice shots guys. Have you tried the last shot in black and white – might work well with the dark clouds and overcast light?
The leopard’s coat, so much nicer on leopard’s than people.
Phenomenal pics, really love the lioness yawning in black and white.
Well done Simon. Another great week in pictures.
You both take the most amazing pictures, that its difficult, but the Mashaba female, Chameleon & the leopard coat are a few of the favourites. Thanks once again & look forward to the Macro ones. Have a Blessed Easter all you wonderful Guides/Rangers/Photographers of Londolozi 🙂
