Here here!! I am a huge fan of Kingsley Heath, their great range works just as well in the city as in the bush – and lucky for me, the store is just around the corner from my office. Good to know that its now available at Londolozi, so whether I am in the city or in the bush, style is covered! Thanks Bron for the introduction to my new best friend, Kingsley Heath.
As a girl living deep in the African Bush, my weakness for Vogue, Prada and Ralph Lauren can get the better of me. So under the guise of a well planned ‘sales’ trip I nip off to New York or London to get my fix. Over the years I have met some incredibly stylish women on my travels: Liz Biden, Lizzie Westby-Nunn, Kirsty Ratcliffe and my own wonderful mum have each shown me a few fashion tricks….but the reality is that in the bush it is dust, heat and mud all the way. But that doesn’t that you can’t always look gorgeous.
Londolozi living has just discovered a South African gem. The fun, fabulous and fantastic Kingsley Heath.
Kingsley Heath captures the spirit of adventure and the luxury of growing up in Africa. It is the perfect fusion of great lines, earthy tones and just a hint of African simmer. It is not hard to become a huge fan of the clothing range and it means that looking good in the African bush has never been so easy. On the first day of your safari all you need to do is visit the Londolozi living boutique, then pick and choose to your heart’s content. You will depart ready to face the wilderness head on, whilst still looking like a movie star.
So many different people have had a love affair with Africa, it is a place that slowly consumes you, holds you and becomes part of you for the rest of your life. I leave you with one of my favorite poems:
When you have acquired a taste for dust,
The scent of the first rain,
You’re hooked for life on Africa,
And you won’t be right again.
Until you can watch the setting moon
And hear the jackals bark
And know that they are around you waiting in the dark
When you long to see the elephants.
Or hear the coucal song
When the moon rise sets your blood on fire you have been away to long…
It is time to cut the traces loose
And let your heart go free
Beyond that far horizon
Where your spirit yearns to be…..
