Londolozi Tree Camp was the first ever Game Reserve to receive the world renowned Relais & Châteaux fleur-de-lis of excellence in 1993. This marked the beginning of a journey towards global standards, African feelings and the most stylish family run camp in Africa!
Tree Camp’s carries the essence of the original style of leopards, lanterns and ancient lead woods.
These 300 year old lead wood sentinels stand to attention as you arrive at this intimate, luxurious camp where an original Simon Max Bannister “Leopard art work” welcomes you…
Once again Shan Varty along with Yvonne O’ Brien from The Private House Company, continues to weave their magic of understated style, simplicity and elegance as they breathe new life into these six well-appointed suites. Hidden in the riverine forest the Tree Camp Suites are a perfect vantage point from which the river life unfolds below. Breeding herds of elephants and the delicate bushbuck are common visitors below your deck.
At night the camp surrounds become an enchanted garden as guests are drawn down a lantern lit aisle towards a roaring camp fire onto a floating deck suspended high above the riverine forest. Other features at Tree Camp include: the addition of an an all-weather secluded intimate wine tasting and dining lounge, overlooking the camp’s waterfall pool.
Beyond the style and décor of Tree Camp lies a much deeper story of celebration. Reflected within the imagery and décor of the camp is the astonishing story about the world famous Leopards of Londolozi. This dynasty of leopards, spanning 38 years, has been chronicled by the many guides and trackers, past and present, who have been part of the Londolozi Family. This ongoing leopard saga is now entering its 4th decade as our sense of kinship between man and wild leopard deepens. Tree Camp stands as testament to Londolozi’s enduring partnership with nature.
