Incredible. Amazing video. The elephants seem very relaxed. Fantastic experience, wild dogs killing an Impaĺa in camp.

Pete, now that is impressive. What a treat for everyone. Thank you

What no caracal?

I left that sighting out on purpose… Didn’t want to make everyone too jealous, Ian!

Wonderful 24 hours of game viewing you had! I bet your guests loved participating in the mud bath! 🤣

Wow- thanks for your 24hour journal. What an amazing day you had and then the segue into Talley’s jogging surprise left me speechless.

Each safari trip is an adventure and whilst you can hope to find your animal favorites, it’s just satisfying to be out in nature where there are no walls, bars or pens! Cheers!

That video with the elephants was truly amazing. Having them that close was thrilling alone and then when our perspective was used to their large sizes with the youth and then the huge (I am thinking) matriarch walked up, her size was beyond impressive…wow! Great Londolozi episode! Thank you 🙂

Lucky, lucky guests! A mere 3 months and 17 days to wait for my own “purple patch”. Great blog, Pete – which leopards were the mating pair seen in camp?

Hi Suzanne,

It was the Flat Rock male and the Ingrid Dam female. They have been seen mating again since that morning, so hopefully later on this year there will be some more cubs around. Only time will tell…

Pete, what a riveting blog! Auriel and I read it together and felt we were on the drives with you! Thank you.

I was on the edge of my seat just reading the story, but I can imagine the excitement from everyone who was there to witness it first hand.

Pete, wonderful 2 days of viewing

Pete, any idea as to the sex ratio of the Ntsevu cubs yet?

Hi Michael,

Not yet. With 12 of them running around it has been a bit tricky trying to keep track of who is who. We will keep you updated though.

Great story Pete. Pause for thought as I often walk that service road! I’m guessing that the mating pair was Flat Rock but not sure of the female?

Al!

Yes you are 100% spot on. The Flat Rock male and the Ingrid Dam female. Unfortunately that probably means she has lost her most recent litter as they have since been seen mating again.

Hope all is well, Al

Cheers Pete. I had resigned myself to the fact that the cubs had perished when I did not see any blogs since my visit in February when we were treated to two great sightings.

Wow, Pete! What a story! Reading it we feel we are with you right there. Thank you for your clear descriptions. Wendy M

24 hours in heaven!!!

What a way to begin my day by reading this exciting post! Having the elephants that close, wild dogs, a kill within the camp and the Anderson one glare away….be still my heart! The video of the elephants around the rover having a mud bath would have made my day even if nothing else had occurred. What a day at Londolozi. The images were over the top special.

Wish I had been there especially to participate in the mud baths. Victoria

Absolutely WOW Pete!

Pete, We cannot even imagine how cool (or scary) it must have been with the elephants! Especially when that huge male was walking towards you! The game drive excitement and sightings there seems to come in waves, but never stops!
