While heading into the southwestern parts of the reserve in search of nothing in particular, we managed to find one of the Ntsevu Lionesses. We follow her for a short while as she attempts to stalk a few zebra and impala. Before she can get anywhere close enough to have a chance she is seen and the impalas give off their alarm call. While hoping to have her walking down a dry river bed towards us, we hear some more impala alarm calls in the distance, too far away to be directed at her.
Upon arriving in the area where we thought the alarm calls were coming from we, find a drag mark on the road. We call in the big guns, Freddy Ngobeni to help us find the leopard. It is incredible the level of detail that Freddy notices while tracking. Eventually, we find the Three Rivers Female with a duiker kill.
The third part of our Virtual Safari is a sighting of two Ndzhenga Males and one Ntsevu Female out in the open hoping that they may mate for us.
Enjoy this Virtual Safari…
Forced into early independence as her mother was killed by the Southern Avoca Males.

Sean, The video you got of the Ntsevu lioness walking towards you is mesmerizing and beautiful. The green background is a wonderful change to seeing them open dry areas. Freddy’s tracking through the high grass and wooded areas is amazing. He is a super-pro and we remember riding with him!
Thank you so much, Michael and Terri. It was such a stunning scene. And yes, Freddy is a pro.
Very nice video – was amazed to see Freddy track that Leopard! Crazy he can spot such tiny details – that’s why they are the trackers and we are the watchers 😊
It was such an incredible experience following Freddy.
Such a nice, quiet almost meditative safari today. Sometimes it’s just what we need, time to stop, observe the relaxed nature of big cats when they’ve relatively full bellies, almost at the end of their mating cycle, and just stretch out in a clearing to take a break. Action filled drives are amazing, exhilarating but these quiet ones are just as good. Thanks Sean!
THank you so much, Denise. It was a very nice relaxing safari.
Hi Sean, good video footage of the lions mating , also watching Freddy looking for the tiniest detail to search for the leopard. Which he did and thank you Freddy your expertise is much appreciated. The Three Rivers female is a beautiful small leopard in stature. Good to know that there will soon be baby lion cubs on the Reserve. Thanks Sean your video’s and TWIP Foto’s are always outstanding every week.
Thank you so much, Valmai. I am so glad that you enjoy the content we are putting out.
Lions appear to be in great conditions! The Ndzenga males have fantastic manes. It’s always a pleasure to see the Three River Female she’s a particularly beautiful leopard and always interesting in her moves. I like the wildebeest checking the lions
The lions are in fantastic condition. And yes the Three Rivers Female is stunning.
Great video of the mating lions! I loved the way she pretty much ignored his mating while checking out the prey, no reaction at all! Thanks!
It was great to see how she was so fixated on the prey and paid no attention to the male.
beautiful leopard sequence. especially interesting to see her chewing.
Thank you so much, Paul. It was so great to track her with Freddy.
Ha! One track mind male! The last blog on African quotes made me miss our trip! Very thankful for your virtual safaris!
Wonderful video of the tracking efforts of Freddie. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much, WIlliam. It is always an exciting adventure with Freddy.
What a fantastic tracking by Freddy. Great to see that leopard through the bushes and hear her making crunching noises.
The two lion videoclips are also amazing. It’s just so great to be able to see these animals doing their daily activities.
So we can watch what’s going on at Londolozi even if we are not there.
It is the best thing to be able to share a tiny segment of the daily action here with everyone across the globe.
