I love your blogs Jess. You write beatifully. It is interesting to read that wild dogs and cheetah hunt at night. But then lion and leopard hunt in the day aswell.

Thank you, Marinda! Yes lions and leopards are opportunistic predators.

interesting how nature itself helps to keep the balance fixed between animals

Jess, what a wonderful blog – I saved the wildebeest in the moon🤗

Thank you, Joan! It is a beautiful picture.

Lovely, thank you! I also do know that full moons are known as “poachers’ moons”, as the light is in favour of them. So I always worry about that. Londolozi has much better protection than many places, but sadly not 100%. And now with so much less tourist traffic, I worry, I worry…

Absolutely beautiful photos

Very, very cool information. Thank you!

Beautiful post! Thank you for all of these nocturnal insights!

Amazing post! I was fascinated when I learned about cheetahs hunting under the full moon in the Mara! They also regularly do this in the Kalahari too.

I did not know about the cheetahs in Kalahari but thank you for informing me!

Great article Jess, I didn’t know Cheetahs or Hunting Dogs hunted at night, but suspect that they to are vulnerable at night to lions

Beautifully written blog, coupled with great information about the hunting practices of predators during full moon cycles and why they may succeed, or not. Hadn’t thought about the white or light parts of lions/leopards in moonlight blowing their cover!! Take care.

Hello Jess! Good written! Very interesting! Beautiful pictures! Thank you for sharing!

What wonderful writing skills you have, Jess! Also your images are simply beautiful. I hope to see more of you on the blog! Be safe and healthy!

thank you so much for interesting information

I enjoyed the story and observations and the wonderful photos. I would like to tell you, I worked for Law Enforcement. All the deputies and police officers and ambulance drivers knew when there was a full moon, they were going to be very busy. I read somewhere the moon had effects on the tides, therefore would have similar effects on the human body as it is about 60% water.
