I wish them all the best in there future. I’m sad and worried for them all to, may all the best for them all

She is truly a remarkable mother. Here’s hoping she and her progeny continue to thrive while contributing to the cheetah population.

A bittersweet time, for sure. I know you and your guests will enjoy your time with them as long as you are able.

Wishing them all continued success as their new journey unfolds… hoping we all still can be a part of it…🧡

Hi Kirst, as often your blog edition is memorable. Cheetah are magic. I didn’t realise one was missing, until I recalled that they were actually 4! It seemed a gift! What a pity. But this end, confronted to that of most leopards siblings, is really special. I watched several documentaries on brave and though, experienced mother Cheetah bringing to maturity thir offspring, but more often than not it is not so.. thanks for those memorable images and fantastic tale!

Hi Kirst, it is a great privilege to see these stunning Cheetah cubs growing up right in front of you. Everytime you see them, you can see the difference in growth and also the way the mother teaches them to hunt. May each one of these cubs be successful in finding a partner to mate with and have litters of cubs of their own. To mom I wish the same, we know she is an exceptional mother and we just hope she can have another litter of cubs as well.

Thank you the cheetah out of all the big 5 are my favorite I guess because their struggles to survive are a bit harder to see this family still together and alive bar one is a credit to the mother I pray they all live to have happy long life and the young ones learned thee lesson of survival from their mum well

Having seen this family in January while visiting Londolozi it has been a great honor to watch there journey. Overcoming the odds and raising her 3 cubs to adulthood is incredible.

Elizabeth and I spent a morning with this wonderful mom and her cubs, Sept. 23, 2024. It’s been a thrill to follow her and the cubs through the postings over the year. Your article how they are ready to “leave the nest” brings it full circle. Thank you.

As I recall, you were one of the first rangers to spot the Makhatini female with her weeks’ old cubs in the tall dry brush, and now 16 months and many memories later, you’ll be there to see them make their way into independence. Whilst I didn’t experience the joy of seeing them during my last visits, I’ve enjoyed each blog and the accompanying images of this amazing mother and her three adorable cubs as they grew, rooting for their survival along the way. We are all fortunate to have watched her story unfold in an environment that is not especially easy for a cheetah family and their stories will be missed, but knowing they are ready to begin their own lives brings happiness and the hope they will continue to thrive.

A wonderful cheetah mother. I hope that all three cubs will manage their own lives successfully and she will soon have another litter to care for. By the way how old is the mother? Is that known?

Makatini must the best mom in Sabi Sands, all best to them!

Had the great fortune of spending time with this family in June while in the northern Sabi Sand and they are beyond a special family. She is a remarkable mom and has previously reared cubs as well, so she is phenomenally successful!
