Five leopards and four Cheetahs in one morning! It doesn’t get much better than that. Not that we planned for the morning to go that way, but if you are keen to see a few predators, then strap in for a cracking morning. We start off with a bit of help from a few monkeys alarm-calling the tops of some trees, which leads to us finding the Ndzenzeni Female and the Nweti Male feeding on a hoisted impala carcass.
Then it was the Nkoveni Female and her incredibly playful cubs while they were resting in the shade after feeding on a carcass as well. Before we knew it we were cruising down to try and see the mother cheetah, now known as the Makhatini Female, and her three cubs. This was going to be my first time ever seeing these cubs. Thankfully they were still there when we arrived. For a bit of viewing pleasure, we throw in a bit of the Rangers content of the cheetah family at the end.

Hi Sean, firstly I was overwhelmed with joy by this video! The Ndzanzeni female, I was looking for her in different blogs and news, she finally is there and as beautiful as ever. Do you think she might be pregnant? Or she just ate a lot… I noticed that she was limping too. The Nweti male looks very handsome. The Nkoveni family is so uplifting, with the cubs antics and the mum that’s always willing to take part to.theri mischievous behaviour… they play like kittens, hitting the other by kicking, biting and menacing front paws. The sweet cheetah s…. it’s difficult to think of them killing anything. They are so elegant, beautiful, light, in contrast to leopards the delicate cubs jump one over the other while running. Their expression is so soft… there is no sign of the wild look that is focusing on killing. What a contrast, the ultimate killer, the leopard, and the delicate runner of the savanna, the cheetah…
The cheetah cubs have grown be ‘leaps and bounds’ since our sighting with ‘V’ and Megan in late September. So glad you have now had that thrill.
Dear Sean, thanks a lot for sharing, so much fun with all the cubs, playing and enjoying. Love Nkoveni with her two cubs.
Simply beautiful Sean, I really like the cheetah’s.
That was a cracking good morning of big cat sightings as you so aptly described, although bittersweet when it came to Nkoveni and her cubs, knowing she lost her female cub. I feel fortunate to have seen the three last month and was optimistic about the futures of these two 1o month old leopards, but nothing is certain in the wild. Danger from other predators is always around and unfortunately the little female couldn’t find a tree to climb fast enough, from what I’ve heard.
Seeing the Ndzanzeni female and Nweti in close proximity was surprising, but the best part of your video for me was seeing Makatini and her three cubs. So far she’s done an amazing job in providing food for them as well as keeping them safe. Fingers crossed…..
Hi Sean, we were so spoilt to see so many predators in one video. My favorite being the Nkoveni female with her two cubs that have grown up so quickly. They are so playful and absolutely gorgeous. Nkoveni is an exceptional mother and we hope that they will be able to survive till adulthood. Cheetah cubs are just as gorgeous and so glad they came back onto Londolozi ground for you to see them as well Sean.
The Ndzenzeni Female and the Nweti Male have very full bellies, indeed. Did they both feed on the same carcass?
It’s nice for guests, trackers and rangers alike that the monkeys make such a racket wehen they see a leopard, so it’s much easier to find the predators.
The three cheetah cubs are soo cute!
I always enjoy videos of all those cats immensely. Thanks! During the long months when one can’t enjoy the “real thing”, it’s great to be able to follow your loved ones on video.
