In today’s virtual safari, we embark on yet another exhilarating game drive with the wild dogs and their humourous pups!
After a brief interaction with a dazzle of zebras, they come across a herd of impala which sends the dogs running in all different directions. Our heart rates race as we watch the one dog try to loop up ahead. Just as the excitement reaches its peak, we find ourselves momentarily separated from the pack and unfortunately, an unsuccessful attempt.
But fear not, ranger Shaun D’Araujo, had worked his magic and found two adults and the 19 pups resting not too far away. We join him there and that’s when the real entertainment begins! With the adults away on their hunt, we enjoy a fantastic time as the pups, full of energy and curiosity, engage in their world of playfulness. They chase each other, frolicking around in the grass, and then feast on the rewards of the adults’ successful hunt. We also have a moment to reflect on a previous sighting of the pack in this exact spot when the females were pregnant and digging away at a termite mound. We got a little ahead of ourselves thinking that they were going to den here. The next morning they were gone without a trace and were then found to be denning very far away from here a couple weeks later.

Thank you so much, Sandra.
Great wild dog video, thanks Sean.
Thanks so much, William. Glad you enjoyed it.
When I reflect on the sounds of the bush that invigorate me, the chittering of wild dog pups is high on the list.
I completely agree, it is such an exciting sound.
Hi Sean, they are so full of energy, each one vocalizing and running about makes an afternoon well spent. They certainly are growing by the day. Hope soon that they will den on Londolozi ground. Fantastic video thank you Sean.
They are growing so quickly and seeing them roaming around is the best. Thank you, Valmai.
So great! Could spend all day with those pups! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much, Anita. The pups are so entertaining, I could also spend the whole day with them.
First of all, it’s good news that this wild dog family is still actively living and hunting throughout the property. Secondly, although there aren’t that many adults, they’ve done a fantastic job of keeping all of these pups safe and well-fed. It’s amusing to watch these playful pups race to meet the returning adults, creating frenzy as each morsel of food is disgorged. Then it seems the adults just want to escape the rambunctious pups when feeding time over, if only to escape all the high-pitched squealing for some quiet time. Thanks for the update Sean.
Thank you so much, Denise. The dynamics around meal time are certainly entertaining. The adults do make a speedy exit after revealing the food for the pups.
Lovely video of the dogs
Thank you so much, Christa.
I just love these guys, and can watch them all day long! Thanks Sean!!
