The Londolozi Healing House was created by ‘wild women’. Its beginnings were a result of a collaboration of a mother and daughter team, Shan and Bronwyn Varty who crafted a space that was designed to facilitate deep rest, rejuvenation, and reconnection. Inspired by 40 years of ‘bushveld’ living, Shan and Bronwyn created a new safari offering guided by nature, yet deeply grounded in the body, the spirit, and the heart. Every detail of the Londolozi The Healing House has been intentionally chosen, including each member of our team.
For what is a space without the hearts that fill it?
For us ‘home is where the heart is’ and so I hope you enjoy meeting some of the women of the Londolozi Healing House.
For those of you who have visited us in the Healing House, you might recognise some of the women below. But, for many of you, these might be new faces. It brings me great joy to introduce some of the women behind Londolozi’s Healing House – the individuals who will greet you in the courtyard as you enter, who will intuitively guide you through each treatment, and the ones who bring the magic hands to this space. We are a team of five women of varying ages, backgrounds, and beliefs, unified by a love for caring for the wellbeing of people and how we can reconnect them back to nature, and their own true nature.
Caylie
Caylie’s favourite treatment at Londolozi is the Body Exfoliation.
“The body exfoliation reminds me of ancient roman times. It carries an echo of history and leaves guests feeling as though they have a new skin. Cleansed and renewed.
I love giving this treatment particularly in the beautiful River Room beneath the ebony trees.”
Sam
Sam’s favourite treatments are the Foot Ritual and Maternity Treatment…
“Working with various pressure on the feet, ankles and lower legs is powerful, as the Reflexology points stimulate the body’s own innate ability to heal from the inside- out. While the feet and ankles carry a huge load of our day-to-day movements, there is enormous relief found through having our lower limbs massaged. Often the feet are forgotten and this treatment reminds people of how amazing the entire body can feel after a proper foot exfoliation, Reflexology and massage. I love witnessing the deep sense of tranquility and relaxation that settles into the person in front of me during this treatment.Maternity massage is a privilege to share with expecting Moms-to-be. The body is undergoing an immense task of growing a little human and I always love working with this specialized treatment for a few reasons:-It provides relieving benefits for the ever-changing body, helps women to feel safe, held and cared for during a transformative time, as well as making her feel relaxed and at ease with the gentle, yet firm movements.-The positive change in body language and sense of lightness that is apparent after one of these sessions is the most rewarding and beautiful thing to witness as a therapist.”
Preicy
Preicy’s favourite treatment to do is the Aromatherapy.
“I love Aromatherapy because it a gentle nurturing experience and is tailored specifically to individual guests needs.
We create alchemy using the essence of these powerful plants and blend them to create a truly unique healing experience.”
Katelin
Katelin enjoys the Rose Gold Face Ritual…
“I love the Rose Gold Face Ritual because my passion is the skin. I love working with the ancient eastern tools to release tension in the jaw and muscles of the face. This treatment involves working along lymphatic pathways as well as easing tension in the back, neck and shoulders with the Himalayan salt stones. This feels like a royal treatment – a crowning experience.”
Christina
My favourite treatment is the Healing House Signature. I created this treatment as one I would personally like to experience. So often you wish you could combine the best part of a few separate treatments, to me this is at least four treatments seamed together into one dance of complete sensory indulgence. This treatment leaves you not only deeply relaxation but also slightly euphoric.
“Practice listening to your intuition, your inner voice; ask questions; be curious; see what you see; hear what you hear; and then act upon what you know to be true. These intuitive powers were given to your soul at birth.”
This group of wild women have been together for many years now. We have become incredibly close over the years and are lucky to call each other friends. What’s more is that we have seen the power of what women can do when they work together. Londolozi’s Healing House is not to be missed! We can’t wait to share the space with you on your next visit and for you to browse through our different treatments.
Hi Christina and ladies. Your magical , healing messaging hands do the magic that makes one feel years younger, rejuvenated. Each one of you has a different personality and yet a love for caring for the guests in their own special need. Keep up the good work and caring for the guests like you do.
Congratulations to Sam!
I loved the massage I had at your healing house. It is wonderfully relaxing with the additional luxury of hearing birdsong and other sounds of nature in the background.
A nice blog Christina. I am sure that a lot of ladies get a lot out of the Healing Lodge and leave Londolozi in a totally relaxed state of mind. Nice that you offer that service. Thanks for sharing with us.
The Healing House is a must visit for anyone staying in Londolozi. After a couple of days of off-roading in the Landys, this expert team of ladies will help you rejuvenate your body and soul. A hint, book a treatment before you depart from your home as you don’t want to be disappointed after arriving to learn the appointments are fully booked. To Christina and Caylie, thank you both for taking such good care of me during my stays!
Some of the most wonderful women I’ve had the privilege of working with.
I love you all!
I’m tempted to fly there just so I can experience every single one of those amazing treatments. When we visited in 2018 we saw the Healing House, but I don’t think it was officially open (or maybe it was partially complete?). I can’t wait to experience it the next time we visit.
