The other morning we were fortunate enough to have all four Majingilane Males together. I used this opportunity to try get an update date close up facial shot of each male. I decided to crop the individual portraits tight and to put the pictures into black and white. My thinking was that I wanted 100 % of the focus to be on the face and the body of the animal in question. I did not want landscape, shading or colours to interfere. This post is meant to portray just a little of the raw emotion felt by these lions. It gives a snapshot into their lives and allows you to see just how big they have gotten. Enjoy the Majingilane Males in Black and White…

Your black and white pictures are more than enjoyable, they are absolutely beautiful Adam. The majingilanes reallyhave grown big and muscular, just look at their legs. Snowy greetings from Elisabeth

Absolutely Beautiful photographs. Thanks for sharing these magnificent beings with us and for telling their stories. I enjoy reading your blog and your photography is always stunning. Thank you.
Awesome shots Adam ,hope to see them in 2 weeks !
They were very goodlooking youngsters, now very battlescarred and Hip-Scar is looking very mean these days lol ! Dark Mane seems to be the only one that has kept his looks, maybe that’s why he’s so successful with the ladies (well, that and his dark mane !) 😉
Thank you, Adam–they are absolutely magnificent. If I could only party with them–we’d have so much fun
Yeah great photos Adam, they look different in black and white
Magificent, Majingilanes! They are at the top of their game. I hope we have many years to enjoy them.
Thank you Adam for sharing with us.
Battle-scarred, powerful and beautiful! Thanks, Adam!
