This is such a special video for me, growing up in “Ostrich world”(Oudtshoorn)made me cry, partly because of the draught, but also of how special this little creatures are and if they would survive.

How amazing, fingers crossed they will still be there when we arrive in 8 weeks

Has the second male disappeared?

Hi Ian. Yes the second male disappeared fairly soon after their arrival on Londolozi. Thanks, Amy

And the drought also assured the predators were well satiated and less anxious to attempt an attack on or near an ostrich.

Great video James! How long does it take for an Ostrich chick to reach adult size? If anyone can protect these chicks, I know our amazing female Ostrich can do it. She has already beaten all the odds stacked against her for the past 3 years! Thanks for the update and I look forward to further news on how they are doing.
