Since the early 80’s Londolozi has been passionate about storytelling. From big cats to conservation, people to pristine places and dusty roads to digital photography, storytelling is in our DNA and part of the Londolozi experience. Digital media has empowered not just our guides and trackers to tell great stories, but our guests as well. And it is for this reason that we have created the Studio at Londolozi.
The real adventure begins….
Every game drive holds the possibility of capturing amazing imagery and with our experienced guides leading your safari experience, they are on hand to advise you on how to capture winning photographs. When you return from your morning game drive, you can now visit the Studio where we offer a range of services tailored towards photographers of every level.
Our mission at the Studio is to provide every opportunity for YOU, the guest, to capture outstanding photographs during your time with us in the African wilderness. The Studio is orientated towards anybody who wants to improve their photography. Using the latest editing software, you are able to edit your images with assistance from our creative team as well as receive technical advice on your camera and video equipment.
Photographic Equipment Rental…
Owing to the popularity of our Specialised Photographic Safari experience, we have begun renting a wide range of cameras and lenses (Nikon and Canon) as well as tripods, bean bags, memory cards and just about any camera accessory you may need. If you want to capture a close-up of a leopard in a tree, a fish eagle in flight or zebras grooming one another, we have the right lenses for the perfect shot.
These photographic equipment rentals can be pre-booked for guaranteed use of equipment or if you wish to try out a telephoto camera setup for a day, you can chat to us in the Studio during your stay. Email us for further information and to secure your rental – photography@londolozi.co.za
The fun continues…
For those of you who would like to take a piece of your adventure home with you, we offer high quality canvas printing of either your own images or from our Fine Art Gallery. Your canvas will be printed and delivered to you on the same day, and specially packaged in a secure tube to fit easily into your luggage.
Our recent guest Hilbre writes:
“The photographic service was such a surprise and a massive draw card for going back. The ability to hire different lenses, have a photographic specific vehicle and the ability to edit and print photos on site makes them, I would have thought, totally unique. It was such fun going to the creative hub and having my photos edited right there and then. We just loved the fact that it is an authentic bush experience but with the aspects of modern technology that we all want.”
Write for our blog
Now that you’ve edited and printed your images, why not write about your experience? What was it like to see a leopard for the first time? Did you have an unusual encounter on a game drive? What was the highlight of your visit? Is there a place or activity that you would recommend? Send us an email with your story and low-res images and we’ll showcase your talent on the Londolozi blog! Submit your story or images HERE.
In addition to the Studio experience, be sure to download and learn from our interactive eBook entitled “A Guide to Wildlife Photography”. This digital book is fantastic starting point for new photographers to begin to understand the many possibilities which wildlife photography and, indeed, photography in general hold:
Are you a keen photographer? Send us an email to photography@londolozi.co.za to find out about camera rentals, books, photography and more. We look forward to hearing from you.
Awesome service, and as a keen photographer, this really appeals to me. What sort of telephoto lenses are for rent/use?
Hi Scott, we’re pleased to hear that you are interested in the studio. Please email photography@londolozi.co.za and we’ll provide you with information on our telephoto lenses.
Sounds like an absolute one-stop-shop for EVERYTHING you could even need while on safari! Well done, Londolozi for such great offerings. Looking forward to popping by next year and seeing your creative hub in person 😀
Thank you Monica. We look forward to welcoming you to Londolozi and you must definitely come visit us at the Creative Hub!
So cool! Kate Neil, did you get married? I’ve noticed the posts have been by Kate Collins lately—are you one and the same?
Hi Rae, we now have two Kate’s! I am new on the team. 🙂
Wow, that is a seriously impressive and innovative additional service to be offering! I can only imagine the benefit that this will offer your guests and enhance their experiences and ever-lasting memories of the stunning African bush that surrounds them!
Shout if you ever need a photographer to help out 😉
This is an amazing offering! Congrats Kate and Richard on implementing the studio experience! Still working on getting Jeff down for a week with you all!
One more reason to return – not that I really need another reason!
