Very interesting James. I saw his mother (Mashabene) trying to kill calf in the middle of the herd with several hundred buffalos, several times and with his older brother (the one born in 2006) waiting up in a tree and looking at her. May be she did the same with Makhotini when he was young so he could learnt…

It is always interesting to see how each leopard learns to use the surrounding areas to their advantage..
I hope he stays safe.. he is another beautiful leopard.

I remember finding the Makhotini male with a buffalo calf hoisted in a tree. It was such an unusual sighting.
