Fransje Van Riel

Explorer

I am a published author and wildlife and travel writer, specializing is African safaris. From a very young age (like 2 years old) I have had a deep affinity with all living creatures, from trees to flowers and birds. Growing up in Amsterdam, these three sustained my passion until I visited Africa for the first time during my career as a flight attendant for KLM. Standing on the wide open Plains of the Masai Mara in Kenya I experienced a stupendous moment that is hard to describe but beautiful to feel... no thought, other than an overwhelming feeling of connection, love, awe, wonder, satisfaction and clarity. This is that which I know everyone feels once out there in the wilderness.
