As winter draws to a close I find myself reflecting on the last couple of months and how lucky we are to work in a place of such beauty.
The early morning chill in the air as we anxiously await the sun rise, the hippos basking in the sun for warmth, looking at all the guests who are bundled up in layers of warm clothes as well as watching and learning how the animals cope with the changing seasons. Winter is always my favourite time in the bush but having said that I look forward to what the rest of the year may hold.
In this industry the possibilities are endless….
Enjoy this week in pictures!

One of my favourite shots of this week, I managed to get the focus on its face, blurring the rest of the background.
Extremely difficult to photograph as geckos move relatively quickly. I was fortunate to get a picture or two as he paused to have a good look at me.

Fantastic pics. Beautiful image of the Tsalala cub. Awesome sunrise over Finfoot.
Trevor – I think those are the first photos I have seen of the Sparta males with their manes. Great shots, and I also love Tamboti’s weaponry!
I love the leopard’s paw. Great photographs Trevor, really outstanding collection
Love the shot of the Nanga female!
Wow, these are all great photographs Trevor! I especially love the one of the Tawny Eagle and the Tamboti Young Female’s paw though…just fantastic. Thanks for another great week of pictures!
The leopards paw was amazing. The wild dogs and hyena pups are always a favorite of mine.
Trevor, we too liked the gecko images. Getting down low makes all the difference in a photo of this nature. Having good light on this particular creature adds detail that would otherwise be missed.
The cub drinking is magnificent. The cub and the photo!
Thanks Trevor those are stunning pictures, especially the Leopards paw, Tawny Eagle & I love the “beards” on the Sparta males. Have a great weekend
The Tamboti young female with her impala is a great picture. What a power is hidden in the elegant cheeta.
Great images Trevor. I especially like the lion reflections and the Tamboti female paw – very powerful!
Loved the golden manes and ears on the Sparta young males. Also Tamboti females paws with claws extended is wonderful. I also like seeing they hyena and wild dogs pups.. What wonderful creatures they all are. I think the best photo was the gecko which are indeed hard to photograph.. Thank you for sharing. This is always one of the highlights of my week when I see this link in my mail box!
I love the photos of the young male lions and their developing manes!
I love the last hyena cub photo.
