on Last Four Minutes of an Afternoon Drive

What an awesome experience! Great storytelling! I could picture it all!

A lesson learned many drives ago was to always keep a camera ready until you were parked back at camp as inevitably, the minute you pack everything up, an amazing sighting will happen. You and your guests were treated to incredible moments seeing not only a leopard but the bonus of the porcupine and civet as well. No matter cameras or phones did not capture these animals seen – memories are all that is required.

This was a really incredible sighting, Megan! Lucky you!
Three of these very special animals together, interacting and right in front of the camps: Wow!

How exciting for all involved! I’m glad the leopard missed the porcupine. That could have ended very badly. I’ll be curious to hear more about this new leopard and to see if he sticks around.

That is a wonderful memory. I am curious – Did that lead to a LOT of conversation at dinner, or to silent musing?

Hi Megan, this just goes to show we must be aware all the time in the bush. You never know what will appear before you. You were so lucky to see the male leopard, porcupine and civet all in a few minutes of each other. I am sure your guests were elated in viewing these three animals within a few minutes before the end of their safari ride.

Megan, you did such a great job describing those 4 last minutes on the ride back to camp! I literally felt like I was right there, behind you, taking it all in and looking forward to the yummy dinner! And the bush, of course, always holds secrets.
Thank YOU! Beautiful experience and beautifully described!
