My, oh my! I imagine you all got little sleep this week, what with all the activity. So good to see Tsalala back. And looking forward to updates on the Ximungwe leopardess and her cubs.

It was such a great week. We are through the roof with excitement to have the Tsalala Female back on Londolozi.

What an action-packed blog this week, Sean! The encounter between the Ndzhenga and Plains Camp males was tense enough just watching it from thousands of miles away, goodness knows what it must have been like to be in the midst of it.
Not only is the Tsalala female back, it looks like the dung beetles finally are as well!

It was a really intense sighting between the male lions, thankfully there was no physical altercation between them. Tsalala Female is back, the dung beetles are back and so are all the migratory birds.

Wowza! Where to begin?! I am thrilled to see the Tsalala lioness looking so well and doing what she does best–surviving. I’m sure everyone is looking forward to seeing the new leopard cubs in the property. The clash between the lions must have been thrilling to witness. Whose territory did it take place on, or was it along a boundary? Glad they didn’t come to blows this time, but we’ll have to wait and see what the future brings.

The male lions were pretty much on the boundary between the two territories. We are also glad that it didn’t come to blows but tensions are certainly rising.

Hi Sean, how fantastic, the Tsalala female is back and in her full power! She is a born fighter, I can’t understand why the Plain Camp males go on risking against other coalitions and so loose their own offspring! They are pushed by their instinct, but lions are not only pure instinct. Great news about the Makomsava (she’s a completely different line isn’t she?) Ans Ximungwe with cubs! And finally the pesky Plain Camp males trying to bother the brave Ndzenga males, that, on the opposite, have been excellent in protecting their pride. Amazing lions they are all spectacular. It’s always good to watch elephants as well! Great video

The Tsalala Female truly is a fighter, and it’s incredible to see her thriving. The dynamics between the Plains Camp and Ndzenga males are always fascinating and full of tension—each coalition brings such a unique story. Yes, the Makomsava Female comes from a different lineage, the Saseka Lineage. We’re excited about the possibilities with her and the Ximungwe Female’s cubs. And of course, elephants always bring their own magic to the bush! So glad you enjoyed the video.

What an exciting week you all had, Sean! I am so glad that there is good news of the Tsalala female. She is indeed an incredibly strong lioness and such a good hunter.
Great that there are newborn leopard cubs around. I am looking forward to hearing more about them and hope that no hyenas will cross their path in the near future.
The roaring of lions, especially at night is always so exciting and the roaring for dominance of these two coalitions is certainly something I would have loved to witness. Maybe next time at Londolozi. I am looking forward to hearing more about all their show downs, Hopefully, as you said, there won’t be any fatal fight between them so that the females and cubs won’t have to suffer.
Thanks for this great video!

It really was an action-packed week, and the Tsalala Female’s strength continues to amaze us. The news of leopard cubs is so exciting, and we’re all hoping they stay safe. The lion dynamics are always thrilling to witness—fingers crossed for no fatal clashes! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video.

Sean, amazing video this week. The lion interaction was very interesting to see and I am sure it was amazing first hand. I will wait patiently for the video of the Ximungwe Female and her den.

Thank you so much, William. I can’t wait to share the video of the Ximungwe Female’s den.

Hi Sean, so glad to see the Tsalala female again after losing her 3 cubs recently. What an incredible lioness, with all the odds against her, she has managed to keep going and had these 3 beautiful cubs. Such a pity they were killed. Now she is on her own again and luckily for us, she is back on Londolozi ground. What a huge kudu she brought down, so glad she can feed for a few days. The Ximungwe female is such a stunning leopardess, so glad she has new cubs know and hope to see them in the coming weeks. What a sighting of the lion showdown, my heart was beating so quickly, I was hoping there would not be an altercation between the Camps males and Ndhzenga Males. Both of the lion coalition are impressive, I hope to goodness they stay away from each others territory so that there will be peace in the lion kingdom. I am thinking of all of the cubs, because they will be killed.

Thank you, Valmai. The Tsalala Female’s resilience is truly inspiring, and it’s wonderful to have her back on Londolozi. Like you, I’m excited about the Ximungwe Female’s cubs and hopeful for their safety. The lion dynamics are always so intense—it’s a relief there was no altercation this time!

Wow! I was hoping you would post the entire footage of Tsalala with her humongous kudu kill as I watched a snippet of her on a short YouTube video a couple of days ago. Words don’t describe how happy I am to see her back home, looking as fit as ever. Fingers crossed she can remain under the radar so the Kambulas or Ndzhenga males don’t go after her. Also great news on the Makomsava female discovering she has new cubs in addition to Ximungwe, who we all knew was very pregnant and ready to give birth. That was definitely a teaser to learn you’ve seen the den and the cubs – I’ll keep checking YouTube.

There is certainly something brewing on the lion front and I suspect given the four males are very aware of one another, a confrontation seems certain in the future. Given their strengths and weaknesses, it would be a battle and I’m not sure what the ending might look like. The PC are larger but Ndzhengas could be more clever. We’ll know when we know.

Terrific video presentation Sean..

Thank you so much, Denise. It really was such a great week. It is such epic news to have the Tsalala Female back on Londolozi. We are thrilled! We think that the Makomsava Female is keeping her cubs north of our boundary but hopefully she brings them onto Londolozi soon.
Yes, we have found the den but it is a very sensitive time so we are limiting the amount to traffic we put through there.

Phenomenal news this week! The Tsalala lioness showing just how resilient she is and new leopard cubs as well! Makhomsava Female seems to have ceded the northern portion of her territory (or given she is occupied with her cubs on Londolozi, prioritizes her patrols that side) to her daughter Loloyiso F who is very shy. Wondering if you all have seen any sign of her on Londolozi?

Thanks, Michael. It is great to have the Tsalala Female back here. No we haven’t seen her here yet, maybe she will venture down this way soon.

Absolutely awesome sightings. I love hearing about the Tsalala female and great to see her thriving, what an amazing lioness she is.
Can’t wait to see the leopard cubs. And the big male lions charging at each other was just sensational, I can only imagine what the sound was like up close.
Thanks for sharing.

It is great to see that the Tsalala Female is thriving. I can’t wait to share the cubs with everyone. Yes, it was sensational and the sounds were intense.
