Training at Londolozi has really taken off in the last five years. Everything from computer skills, tracking, sewing to knowing how to set a table are amongst the many things that make up the Londolozi Learning Centre.
The Londolozi Learning Centre’s focus has been to endeavor to translate the Londolozi philosophy and ethic into practical, achievable and relevant people centered practices. From day one, the visualisation has been to have a learning space that would be an accredited educational centre with a focus on the relevant needs of the hospitality industry in Mpumalanga.
Londolozi’s support of and relationship with the Good Work Foundation has greatly facilitated this ripple effect into local rural communities. It is from this space that we have had the privilege of building relationships with schools, principals, teachers and learners in the Londolozi community and wider.
We believe that education must be underpinned by a human-centred philosophy and policy and should facilitate the growth of learners, of all ages, to become the best possible versions of themselves. Investment in individuals will have a ripple effect – a ripple of excellence and achievement – spreading into communities and beyond. The sphere of influence becomes wider and wider! We have a series of courses that we offer at the Londolozi Learning Centre namely:
- Hospitality training through a programme call Lobster Ink
- Digital learning such as ICDL (International Computer Drivers License) – closely affiliated with the Hazyview Digital Learning Center
- English Literacy
- Environmental skills mainly through the Tracker Academy
These programmes all offer accredited certification – both certificates and diplomas. Perhaps most important they all focus on skills sets necessary for enhancement of performance in the hospitality industry. All are well supported by our staff and results reflect the enthusiasm and commitment of many of the Londolozi staff.
What a wonderful place. It truly is the heart and soul of Londolozi!
Staff are such an important part of making Londolozi the most wonderful place in the world.
Thank you for sharing – I LOVE seeing the amazing work of The Good Work Foundation and The Londolozi Learning Center – Fantastic job everyone!
