The culinary offerings are a highlight, with menus featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a variety of international and African-inspired dishes, prepared and presented to you by any combination of our 240-odd family members.

And then you find yourself in the African bush, experiencing nature in all her splendour. This is why you came here; this is why you travelled all this way. And it is beautiful, just as beautiful as you had hoped, more so. Your guide and tracker team direct your attention here and there, weaving each thread of the natural world into a fine tapestry. As you learn and experience more of this incredible landscape, you may realise you want to capture it in even greater detail, so as to keep those memories as vivid as the day you experienced them, even through the obscuring mists of time.

Every drive has the potential to be life-changing.
That is where the photographic studio comes into play. Now, many may arrive with all the gear they need; that may be anything from an iPhone, to a handy point-and-shoot, to a Canon R5 mirrorless camera with a fixed 600mm f/4.0 and sundries. But for many, the photographic studio allows them to capture the highlights of their safari in exquisite detail, all with the helping hand of their very own trained photographic guide. The studio houses all manner of gear, from relatively simple but still very effective standard kits – Either a Canon 7Dii with 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens or a Nikon D750 with 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens – to top-of-the-range equipment such as our Nikon fixed 400mm f/2.8 or the canon 600mm f/4.0 lenses, both of which produce incredibly crisp detail in an image.

You can then return to the photographic studio after a delicious breakfast to join either your guide (or a studio manager) in an editing session where they will run through the fundamentals of using Adobe Lightroom, our preferred editing software, to fine-tune those already incredible images and add that professional touch.
Your guide can take you through the editing process in any depth of detail you’d prefer.
Finally, you have the option to lay your art, or the art you have chosen, to paper; either on canvas (my personal preferred medium) or glossy (which also definitely has its place) and these will be rolled up into a sleek and safe cardboard tube ready for you to take home or if you prefer, can be shipped anywhere in the world for you.

Photos and videos of the Londolozi experience are really a “must”. At home, when one feels homesick for the African bush, you can always look at these pictures and have the fondest memories of Londolozi and its great animal kingdom, its nice people and perfect camps.
I cannot give enough accolades for my experiences in the photo studio. My okay images became spectacular and some became award-winning. Londolozi is first-class in all they do.
Kyle, wonderful photos and great tips! The studio is the perfect place to take advantage of some editing and order a canvas print, a benefit underused by many of us. I hope to change that this year by allocating some studio time at least one day during my stay.
Well done Kyle. I always think it might be easier to use Londolozi’s gear rather than hump all that heavy stuff 10000+ miles from and to home. Plus that solves a big problem with Federal Air’s baggage weight limitations!!! And, I’m not sure folks realize the joy experienced as one watches Adobe Lightroom bring their images to life. Plus your printing capabilities are unsurpassed!
The studio Kyle is the perfect place to make your memories stay alive. So perfect in every way, even hiring of camera’s is an option if you are traveling from abroad. So many beautiful foto’s can come alive there in the studio using Light Room.
Until I visited Londolzi I didn’t realise how ingrained the photo culture is , and how it enhances your visit .

Since the studio opened I’ve been hiring a Nikon 80-400 lens, which is way heavier than I would want to carry. The problem is the leopard canvases you’ve printed off for me have now taken over our house….and we can’t afford another extension!
With Sean’s encouragement, I’ve moved from a point and shoot to being a fairly decent photographer. The lab has taken some of my imperfrct products and made wonderful images of them.
Kyle, thanks for the reminder of the great resource the Photographic Studio is! We always set up a time after our first game drives to check in with one of your team in the studio to make sure we are on track. We have enjoyed making prints and have many on the walls of our home!
