Thank you Kirst. It is truely good to have all these information “at hand” these days. If i may add an app – Birdlasser. It also lets you log a trip of birding. The apps is useful, but i guess one also need to sometimes put down the technology and listen, feel, observe and learn. Thank you for the blog – This is the way i connect being far away from the bush at the moment.

Many of these will be very helpful. Thanks!

Hi Kirst, I suppose Londolozi ‘s leopards database is unique in the world, isn’t it? I have never seen anything similar as far as leopards are regarded. In India there is a database of all tigers, they also get never collared but recognised after their peculiar marks, stripe etc just like your leopards. Great job

Excellent post. I especially appreciate the bird and tree apps.

Kirst, this is a fantastic blog and so appropriate and useful for anyone heading to South Africa for a safari. I wish I had known about these earlier, but perhaps some hadn’t been developed. Now I will definitely upload, especially the bird app, so I can add to my knowledge, which is still very limited! Thank you!!

Kirst, thank you for the information on the apps available.

Thanks for the interesting blog and the tipps for useful apps.
However, my advice would be to stay at Londolozi/ on safari as long as possible and get as much information as possible from the guides/ trackers. They know so much and it is so pleasant to get information from a person and not only from an app.

What a great blog idea, Kirst!

Kirst you are so right to enjoy the safari with no interference. The apps that are available are good and expensive and so rightly so because the information and foto’s are very detailed and impressive. To stay in the bush the way you do Kirst is an absolute privilege. So so much beauty surrounds you and not to talk about the fresh air.

Excellent info on the apps – I will use those next time !
