Andrea Sithole is an inspirational soul and his story serves as a window to what incredible things happen when you’re willing to follow what you love.

Andrea was born in Mozambique during the civil war and his family fled to South Africa for solace. They settled in Justicia, a community adjacent to Londolozi and later, Andrea began his career here as part of the habitat team, helping to restore and maintain the reserve. One day a female leopard crossed his path as he was working and the moment awakened in him a passion to track this incredible creature. This is a passion he has not stopped following since and one that has taken him to the most incredible places thanks in part to his wonderful time spent learning and crafting his skills with the Tracker Academy.

Andrea is now a level 3 tracker and a highly respected one at Londolozi. In fact he has even travelled to the Pantanal in Brazil to track jaguars for conservation.  This experience had a profound impact on him and for three months he helped to find and habituate jaguars; rebuilding the human-animal trust relationship that had been lost. Today, these elusive cats are being viewed successfully in that area of the Pantanal, partly due to Andrea’s efforts. His heart lies at Londolozi and in the African wilderness though and in Andrea you can see that this love is a state of being rather than a destination. It is not something to be tracked and found just once; rather it is a journey, something to be trailed and honed throughout a lifetime.

Andrea serves as one story but everyone here has followed the passion to do what they love and tracked it to this wilderness. It is the common thread that binds the Londolozi family and one that makes it a place which draws people from far and wide to re-connect with a deep intuition.

What Andrea has shown is that if you throw yourself completely into what you love, whatever that may be, and dedicate time and energy to tracking your passion then it’ll always put you where you need to be. By being present you open your awareness and open yourself to the way that the story wants to unfold. And out of that comes great things. He’s proven that when you practise, you can become an expert in tracking and you’ll know when you’re close to finding what it is that you’re looking for.
