In 2014, our partners at Good Work Foundation (GWF) have helped 185 rural adults to qualify with their International Computer Driving Licences. A staggering 7394 online hospitality modules have been completed and for the first year ever, 139 adults have graduated with a business-English certificate. More than 1400 children benefit every week as GWF brings digital learning solutions to the rural space. One group of schoolchildren has achieved a 76 percent mathematics average compared to 48 percent last year.
This is a group of serious #RuralRockstars, and as the CEO, Kate Groch says: “This Christmas, we are celebrating climbing out of the box and reinventing what it means to be rural. As we come to the end of this year, we want to say a big thank you for helping us. We couldn’t get out of the box without the support of extraordinary people from around the world.”
Without further ado, here are GWF’s #RuralRockstars in action – talking about what they love and celebrate about “rural”, but also how they’re reinventing “rural”.
