Don Heyneke donates to the GWF Christmas Drive. Kate Groch – CEO of Good Work Foundation – uses the money to entice Sir Alex Ferguson out of retirement!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank a gang of Londolozi Rangers for donating money towards the Good Work Foundation “Christmas Drive”.
Londolozi Ranger, Don Heyneke, presented the donation to me under the tree in Hazyview on behalf of a group of Londolozi Rangers.
In days gone by, when the going got tough, our extended Londolozi family has always been there to offer their love, enthusiasm and support and so it is always a special moment for me when a group of the “gang” go above and beyond.
Don didn’t just present a cheque either. He quickly disappeared into the bathroom and reemerged in his soccer kit. That was it. Pandemonium broke out in the Open Learning Academy and the kids all raced out to play soccer with Don on the pitch behind our Learning Centre.
Don clearly knows a thing or two about strategy too and he soon had his side in a strong 4-4-2 formation. It wasn’t long before a crowd had gathered and Don was pulling out all the stops. I’m quite sure it was an audition for a 2014 Londolozi Rangers vs. Hazyview Students showdown!
The kind donation will go towards our Hazyview Digital Learning Centre Christmas Programme in the Open Learning Centre. We’ll also see if we can entice Alex Ferguson out of retirement with the donation. Hazyview is going to show those Rangers in 2014!
Although I must add that Judy, on the Good Work Foundation finance team, doesn’t tolerate chewing gum. Sorry Sir Alex.
Thanks again Londolozi Rangers!
Your contribution is appreciated more than you know!
Love,
Kate Groch
CEO, Good Work Foundation
