This year ‘Team Londolozi’ is once again participating in the grueling Challenge4aCause bicycle ride. Spanning 8 days and covering over 420 kilometers of Damaraland desert, the 2012 Challenge4aCause is set to be one of the toughest rides yet!
In 2012 we are aiming to raise R800,000 for the three causes that the Challenge4aCause supports. The Save the Rhino Trust will use the funds for its anti poaching units that are protecting the largest free ranging Black Rhino population in the wild. The Wildlife ACT Fund will use the funds to develop and implement new anti poaching technologies for rhinos and monitor priority species on the five reserves that they have conservation projects on. The Good Work Foundation will use the funds to promote the education of disadvantaged individuals in rural areas.
Meet ‘Team Londolozi’
So who are the riders making up Team Londolozi and exactly what are their cycling credentials….?
Boyd Varty is a fourth generation custodian of Londolozi. He has been on two training rides for this years Challenge and is relying on muscle memory to get him through…he will suffer.
Rich Laburn has been filming at Londolozi since 2009 and will be recording the highlights, lowlights and many mishaps of Boyd during the Challenge. Having done an impressive 3 training rides for the ride, he will more than likely also suffer in the name of rural education.

I MADE A CONTRIBUTION TO YOUR CAUSE LAST YEAR AND WILL DO SO AGAIN THIS YEAR.
THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT CAUSE, FOR IF WE WANT THE GENERATIONS OF THE FUTURE TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THE PRIVELEDGE OF SEEING THESE MARVELOUS ANIMALS IN THE WILD IN THE FUTURE, THEN ALL WHO CARE SHOULD STAND TOGETHER TO FIGHT THE POACHERS AS WELL AS THE RING LEADERS WHEREVER THEY MAY FIND THEMSELVES.
