James you guys are so lucky not only do you guys get to see the amazing matimba boys but also the tasala pride and sightings such as these tell the matimbas to hang in there till I visit someday soon .I just have one question when will the tasala males become nomadic and did the tsalala breakaway and the main tasalala pride have any interaction or a reunion of any kind ?

During almost 20 years of safari, I have heard most guests say that they want to see a kill. No matter what type of kill is seen, many can’t handle the gruesome nature of what is happening, although acknowledging that it is ‘nature.’ My compliments to James for reporting what happened, yet doing it with great sensitivity.

I have to say, over the 5 days that I spent at Tree Camp, I hoped and prayed that I would NOT see any animal being killed. I know it is nature and the strong survive — some animals must die in order for others to survive, but it was not something that I wanted to witness. Gratefully, I got my wish and saw many wonderful sightings without the heartache.

Our journey but specifically the culmination of our 3 days at Londolozi could not have been captured any more succinctly or beautifully. Well done James!

I have been repeating this same story since I got home from vacationing at londolozi. It was truly an amazing experience with an equally amazing guide and spotter…..thank you both for a once in a lifetime experience!!!!

While my husband and I understand that a lion pride will kill for food, and this is necessary to feed themselves and their cubs, we avoid watching. In fact, we hate watching this sort of thing we must be honest. We would rather walk away if possible and watch some birds or other animals like buck. Even insects can be fascinating. In fact, just being in the bush is simply great with the huge variety of vegetation. Have you lost many animals during this very long drought? Wendy and Neil

You never know what you see early in the morning from the deck. We heard the birds alarm calling. Looked up and saw a leopard in the river.
