Beautifully written Judith. I understand and also felt everything you felt while I was at Londolozi. There is nothing like the African wild to put everything into its correct perspective and hopefully, as Boyd speaks of, to be the very best version of yourself that you can be. Thank you for your lovely blog, I really enjoyed reading it.

I live with three dogs. It is important to know this, because I have ceased to see them as “pets”. They are family in the same sense that leopards or elephants are “family”. My Afghan Hound is a hunter. She loves to jump up on a small mound near our house and gaze into the distance looking for incursions into her territory or a possible prey. She is my live in leopard, reserved, graceful, independent and very decorative. My other two are just as unique according to their breed. Thank you to our rangers for the opportunity to understand behavior as well as the beauty of the animals.
