Lovely to see the pictures of the swallows preparing to leave for the north. The distances these birds travel always astonishes me. They must still be en route as we haven’t seen any here in southern UK yet. Can’t be long now though – the first sign of spring & summer for us

Further to my comments on 7 April I am delighted to say that today I have seen the first swallows of summer in the south of England. Who knows perhaps they have come all the way from Londolozi – what a good connection that would be!
