An excellent and fascinating article James! Indeed, LeVallant was an amazing biologist and painter, as well as ‘a man without prejudice’…..something we could all try and emulate these days! It is tragic that he apparently died in poverty, after all he richly contributed to the recordings of ornithology and more.
