For years we at Londolozi have lived by the laws of nature and have seen first-hand the impact even short spaces of time in the wilderness can have on someone’s life.

In 2008, Boyd and Bronwyn Varty met bestselling author and renowned life coach, Dr Martha Beck. Together they created the African STAR (Self Transformation Adventure Retreat) which brings together Dr Martha Beck’s cutting-edge research and experience on human personal development with the Varty’s tracking, safari guiding and storytelling skills. This truly unique combination creates a connective wilderness experience with personal transformation at its heart and shows participants that, as Martha puts it, ‘Nature herself has been conspiring all along to lead you to peace, to purpose and to deep connection.’

Boyd Varty

Master Life Coach, Boyd Varty leads a talk on the art of village building in the Ubuntu Hut, a central meeting place on Londolozi. Ubuntu is an African way of being based on the foundation that ‘I am because of you’, something that informs our lives here daily.

Each year, Martha and her team of Master Coaches offer three on site African STAR’s at Londolozi but this year the team are bringing Africa to you! Master Coach, Boyd Varty will be joining Martha in hosting an event in the Rocky Mountains. For those of you who have been looking for some fulfilling time in the wilderness but have not yet made it to Londolozi, this is a very good way to start your African STAR journey…

The aim of the retreat is to focus on Liberation, Equanimity, Alignment, and Power to give you a quantum LEAP forward in life in these rather tumultuous times. This will be explored through coaching, practical techniques, interaction with nature, storytelling and plenty of fun and play.
