Years ago, I pondered the habitually popular belief that elephants destroy their environment. I asked myself why these majestic creatures would willfully destroy a renewable resource and I concluded that they wouldn’t (that seems to be solely Man’s prerogative)!
It’s been documented that elephants will remove trees and branches that have been destroyed by termite infestations, with the likelihood of preventing the infestation from spreading.

Ah – so sad to hear about that tree Ames – have so many pictures of the kids climbing that branch. It represents moments, sightings and happy times – can’t believe it won’t be there the next time we visit Marthly Pools.

Amy, please tell me when that TOP video was taken. We (6 Webbs) were there in Aug 2014 with Dan as our driver and Richard as our tracker. I think I have those pics. Wow!!! Saw that tree again this last August. Great memories!

Hi Patti. This video was from July 2011. The Tsalala Pride really did love playing in its boughs so it’s no surprise you have pics from your stay in 2014. But great memories as you say!!
