dont the dads play at all with their cubs Amy ?Ginger or Hairy Belly which one of them interacts more with the cubs would love to see some video of dads with cubs

Hi Sasha. Male lions tend to not be as playful with their cubs as females. In fact, a lot of the time they actually seem to be quite wary of their cubs. Follow this link to watch footage I posted a while back of the darker-maned Matimba with his cubs. http://blog.londolozi.com/2016/04/male-lion-and-lion-cubs/. And with regards to your last question, I have not noticed any difference between how the Matimba coalition males treat their youngsters. Thanks so much, Amy

Your pictures are absolutely amazing! They show the True Grit of how the bush is in a drought & the words “survival of the fittest” applies!! Its tragic to see the Buffalo so thin & the lack of grass around! Have a lovely weekend 🙂

I know the two bigger Tsalala cubs are females, what about the three younger ones?

Hi Danny. It’s two males and one female. Thanks, Amy

Amazing pictures Amy! It’s very hard to see the animals struggling through the drought though and it broke my heart to see the little Elephant calf. I pray the rain comes for you there soon. It’s astounding to see how dry the bush is.
