I love your blog and look at it almost daily. It reminds me of our magical May 2014 trip to Londolozi, and whets my appetite for a return trip in the coming years.

Nice, James. You describe things well and you tell great stories. You’ve some real talents, both as a guide and as an author.

I loved this article! So very interesting theories on giraffes and zebras. Thanks, James! I hope to come to Londolozi one day and see these magnificent animals up close.

This article is very well done. But as a veteran of 6 visits to Londolozi and almost 20 years of traveling to Africa for safaris . . . I am still amazed when guests say ‘I want to see x, y, z. Would a guest ever say I want to see dung beetles, termites or bee eaters? Yet these and scores of other species are what make game drives so special and unique. I have been on hundreds of game drives and have never been bored or disappointed that we didn’t see x, y or z or anything else . . . because just around the next turn in the road may be the breeding herd of eles or a pride of lions that are actively hunting . . . or a termite mound that is being actively worked on by thousands of very busy critters. It is all wondrous.

Fantastic blog James! I had to smile while reading this because when asked by Mark and Lucky what I wanted to see most, as we went out on our first game drive, my response was exactly that — Giraffes and Zebras. I think I then added that I was happy to see anything at all….I was so happy to just be there that I couldn’t wait to see anything and everything!

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

Oh how wonderful that you get “normal” guests that want to see the “less important” but just as vital to the park! Thanks James
